Link Session Configuration¶
Before you start¶
Goal
- To configure the directory shortcuts available in Altair Analytics Workbench for an SLC link session running in Altair SLC Hub.
Prerequisites
- A configured Hub with a working execution profile.
- An understanding of the concepts involved in the filesystem configuration.
Execution Profile Configuration¶
The list of directory shortcuts that is available in the Altair Analytics Workbench File Explorer view for an SLC link session is configured in the execution profile used to start that link session.
In the Altair SLC Hub portal, launch Hub Administration and select Execution Profiles. Select the execution profile to change, and set the Directory Shortcuts to an appropriate list and click Save.
In the Directory Shortcuts list, the Key column is the name of the shortcut, and the Value column is the filesystem location. Path substitution variables can be used in the locations.
Note that there is a default list of directory shortcuts if no shortcuts are explicitly set in the execution profile. By default a directory shortcut of Root is created, configured as a shortcut to the root of the Altair SLC Hub worker filesystem. Any list of directory shortcuts explicitly set in the execution profile will override that default.
Note
Note that this doesn't affect what parts of the file system can be accessed by any program that might be run using the SLC link session. This purely affects what parts of the file system are shown to the user in the Altair Analytics Workbench File Explorer view.
Verify¶
Verify that the shortcuts work
To verify, launch Altair Analytics Workbench and establish a connection to the Hub. Start an SLC session running on Hub. Open the File Explorer view, if this is not open, click Window, click Show View and then click File Explorer. There should be a Hub element in the tree under which there should be a tree node representing the SLC session that is running. Under that tree node there should be entries corresponding to the configured directory shortcuts
