Amazon Web Services¶
The diagram below shows an outline of the services Altair SLC Hub uses in AWS.
Altair SLC Hub runs as EC2 VMs that may be sized according to need and the type of processing required.
An ELB Application load balancer routes traffic to the Altair SLC Hub. This enables integration with AWS's systems for providing a DNS name, static IP, certificates, DDoS, or other supporting features. It is not essential.
Altair SLC Hub integrates into AWS using the native PostgreSQL database and Object store, to provide storage for the database and job/pipeline results. This is more cost efficient and stable than using the internal systems. It also simplifies backs and allows spanning Availability zones where desired.
Shared storage is provided using an AWS EFS drive.
Altair SLC Hub may connect to AWS's LDAP or an external one as configured.
If you want Altair SLC Hub to send e-mail, it may connect to an e-mail service, either with AWS or externally as required.
